Doctors, medical groups accused of failing to detect woman's lung cancer

Perconti

The personal representative of a deceased Cook County woman is suing over claims  physicians' negligence caused her death.

Lisa Pitler, on behalf of Frances Rosen, filed a wrongful death lawsuit Jan. 29 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Physicians of the North Shore Ltd., Edgebrook Radiology Management Services Inc., Radiology Associates S.C. and Drs. Betty Goldstein and George G. Kuritza.

According to the complaint, Rosen was under the defendants' care at Physicians of North Shore, 9555 Cross Point Road in Skokie between June 13, 2009 and January 2013.

Pitler claims the defendants failed to properly take and read several chest x-rays that Rosen received. She alleges Rosen had a mass on her lungs and as a result of the mass going unnoticed, her lung cancer went undiagnosed and progressed to an advanced stage, causing her untimely death on April 28.

Pitler is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 and court costs. She is being represented in the case by Chicago attorneys John Perconti and Patricia Gifford of Levin & Perconti.
