Radioshack named in slip and fall suit

Rhatigan

A woman is suing over claims she sustained injuries after falling on a patch of ice outside a Cook County electronics store.

Semida Gaode filed a lawsuit Feb. 4 in the Cook County District Court against Radioshack Corp., Tandy Corp. and National Shopping Plazas Inc., citing negligence.

Gaode claims she was trying to enter the electronics store at 6170 N. Lincoln Ave. in Chicago on Dec. 16, 2008, when she slipped on ice, sustaining injuries. The suit alleges the northern entrance of the business was not properly maintained as there was an abnormally large build up of ice and snow.

Gaode is seeking $50,000 in damages and court costs. She is being represented in the case by Chicago attorney Timothy P. Rhatigan.
