A man is suing over claims asbestos exposure led to mesothelioma.
Kevin McGhee filed a lawsuit Feb. 6 in the Cook County Circuit Court against A.W. Chesterton Co. and several other companies.
According to the complaint, McGhee was employed as a shipfitter at various locations from 1974 to 1982, during which time he was exposed to and inhaled asbestos fibers from products manufactured, sold and distributed by the defendant companies.
McGhee asserts he was diagnosed with mesothelioma on Dec. 23, 2013 as a direct result of the asbestos exposure.
He is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented in the case by attorney David O. Barrett of Cooney & Conway.
