Target sued after woman slips on ice in parking lot

A Cook County woman is suing over claims she was injured in the icy parking lot of a Target store.

Rebecca Coffey filed a lawsuit Feb. 14 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Target Corporation and Ferrandino & Son Inc.

According to the complaint, on Feb. 9, 2013, Coffey slipped on an icy patch in the parking lot of the Target on East Rand Road in Arlington Heights and was injured. Ferrandino & Son were contracted for the removal of ice and snow from the parking lot. The defendants are accused of failing to provide a safe premises for customers.

Coffey is seeking more than $50,000 in damages. She is being represented in the case by attorney Sara M. Davis of Whiting Law Group Ltd.
