The heir to a nursing home resident is suing the facility over neglect in the care of her relative.
Maryellen Richard, as administrator for the estate of Ethlynn Richard, filed a lawsuit Feb. 18 against Berkshire Nursing and Rehab Center LLC, citing neglect.
The lawsuit states Ethlynn Richard was admitted to the center on Dec. 15, 2012. She died July 25, with health issues including multiple injuries, sepsis, gastrointestinal bleeding, severe anemia, renal failure, dehydration, skin breakdown and progressive infections, all which contributed to her global deterioration of her condition, according to the complaint.
Maryellen Richard is seeking in excess of $50,000 in damages. She is being represented by Robert J. Booth of the Booth Law Firm.
