A Cook County woman is suing over claims she sustained injuries after tripping on a poorly maintained sidewalk in Chicago.
Jacqueline Chambers filed a lawsuit Feb. 14 in the Cook County District Court against the city of Chicago, citing negligence.
Chambers claims on Feb. 18, 2013, she was walking on a city sidewalk, between 47th Street and 48th Street in Chicago, when she tripped and fell. The suit alleges the sidewalk was not properly maintained, causing Chambers to trip, fall and sustain injuries such as shock to her nervous system, bruises, contusions and lacerations to her body.
Chambers is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 and court costs. She is being represented in the case by Chicago attorney J. Richard Hisaw of J. Richard Hisaw and Associates.
