Nursing home resident sues facility after fracturing leg

Kellerman

A woman is suing a nursing home facility after she fell and required surgery for her injured leg.

Edna Jarrett filed a lawsuit Feb. 11 in the Cook County Circuit Court against International Nursing and Rehab Center LLC, citing negligence.

According to the suit, Jarrett was a resident at the center at 4815 S. Western Ave. in Chicago since 2007 and fell on Dec. 1, fracturing a leg that then required surgery. She claims the facility should have known and prepared for her as a high fall risk.

Jarrett is suing for damages in excess of $50,000, plus court costs, and is being represented by Jason M. Kellerman of the Law Offices of Steven J. Malman & Associates.
