Construction company, hospital sued over worker's injury

Miroballi

A construction worker is suing over allegations he sustained injuries when scaffolding collapsed on a job site.

Peter Trykall filed a lawsuit Feb. 6 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Michuda Construction Inc. and Advocate Health and Hospitals Corp., doing business as Lutheran General Hospital, citing construction negligence and premise liability.

According to the lawsuit, Trykall was employed by Jensen Building Repairs and was on the defendant's construction premises at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge on March 19, 2012.

He claims the defendants made Jensen Building Repairs store their scaffolding in a dangerous manner and location, which resulted in a Bobcat striking the scaffolding, causing it to crash down on him.

Trykall is seeking damages in excess of jurisdictional amounts and is being represented by Joseph J. Miroballi and Lauren Levin of Miroballi Durkin & Rudin LLC.
