Woman accuses doctor of negligence in cataract surgery

Kalish

A Cook County woman is suing over claims she received negligent care from a physician at a Lincolnwood surgery center.

Bushra Younan filed a lawsuit on Feb. 14 in the Cook County District Court against Dr. Phillip Wu, North Shore Same Day Surgery LLC and North Shore Surgical Center.

Younan claims Wu performed cataract surgery on her on Feb. 15, 2012 at defendant surgery facility in Lincolnwood. She claims Wu failed to perform the surgery properly, which resulted in injuries, namely a tear on her right eye and retinal detachment.

She is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 from each defendant, as well as court costs, and is being represented by Ronald Kalish of Steinberg, Goodman & Kalish in Chicago.

Cook County District Court Case No. 2014L001546.
