A woman is suing over claims she sustained injuries after tripping over a poorly maintained sidewalk in Chicago.
Jacqueline Chambers filed a lawsuit Feb. 14 in the Cook County Circuit Court against the City of Chicago, citing negligence.
According to the complaint, Chambers was walking on a city sidewalk between 47th and 48th streets in Chicago on Feb. 18, 2013, when she tripped and fell. She claims the sidewalk was not properly maintained, which caused her to trip, fall and sustain injuries, including shock to her nervous system and bruises, contusions and lacerations to her body.
Chambers is seeking damages in excess of $50,000, as well as court costs, and is being represented by Chicago attorney J. Richard Hisaw of J. Richard Hisaw & Associates.
