Woman sues city, park district over fall on sidewalk

A woman is suing the city of Chicago and the park district after falling in a park.

Maria M. Algarin filed a lawsuit Feb. 18 in the Cook County Circuit Court against the city of Chicago and the Chicago Park District, citing negligence.

The lawsuit states Algarin was using the sidewalk in and around Berteau and Long/Portage Park on Feb. 18, 2013, when she fell and sustained injuries.

Algarin is seeking in excess of $50,000 in damages. She is being represented by Joseph Dombrowski of Dombrowski, Sorenson and Gigac.
