A man is suing over claims he was injured after being struck by materials being unloaded from his truck.
Lawrence Gelsosomo filed a lawsuit Feb. 18 in the Cook County Circuit Court against First Class Mill Services Inc. and A. Finkl & Sons Co., citing negligence.
According to the complaint, Gelsosomo was working as a truck driver and June 4, 2012, delivered materials to A. Finkl & Sons at 1355 E. 93rd St. in Chicago. The defendants, the suit states, accepted the delivery and agreed to direct and supervise the unloading.
Gelsosomo claims he was directed by the defendants to stand in a certain location during the unloading and while standing there, the materials being unloaded became unsteady and struck him, causing injuries.
He is seeking more than $50,000 in damages. He is being represented in the case by Mark J. Vogg of the Law Offices of Thomas J. Popovich.
