A Cook County man is suing over claims he was injured during an assault at a gas station.
Allen Tobler filed a lawsuit Feb. 28 in the Cook County District Court against Aref Mohamed, Reyad Mohamed, Alima Almansoob and Damen Citgo Inc., doing business as Citgo Fuel, citing assault and negligence.
Tobler claims he went inside the defendant's gas station at 7901 S. Damen Ave. in Chicago to prepay for gas on Aug. 1, 2012, when he was attacked by two employees.
According to the suit, the employees accused Tobler of breaking the pumps at the gas station and then physically attacked and struck him. Tobler alleges he fled the gas station and then went back for his truck later, when he was again attacked.
Tobler is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 and court costs. He is being represented in the case by attorneys Zane D. Smith and Andre Ordeanu of Zane D. Smith & Associates Ltd. in Chicago.
