Advocate Medical Center sued over patient injury

A woman is suing a Chicago hospital, claiming she was injured by a nurse the day after her she had a colonscopy.

Delores Lynch filed a lawsuit Feb. 28 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Advocate North Side Health Network, doing business as Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, citing medical malpractice.

According to the complaint, Lynch was at the medical center for a colonoscopy on Feb. 27, 2012. She claims a nurse walking by her bed the next day caught her wrist and thumb, causing injuries.

Lynch is seeking more than $50,000 in damages. She is being represented in the case by attorneys at Seidman, Margulis & Fairman in Chicago.
