VFW post sued after woman trips at bingo; case settled, dismissed

UPDATE: Cook County court records indicate this case was settled and dismissed by stipulation or agreement on Aug. 4, 2014. 

A woman is suing a VFW hall, claiming she was injured at a bingo event.

Ann Westwood filed a lawsuit March 7 in the Cook County Circuit Court against VFW 5151 Arnold/Heath Memorial Post, citing premises liability.

According to the complaint, Westwood was at the VFW 5151 Arnold/Heath Memorial Post on South Bartlett Road to attend a bingo event on March 10, 2013, when she tripped on a rippled industrial doormat and was injured.

Westwood is seeking more than $50,000 in damages. She is being represented in the case by attorney Matthias D. Gill of Hoey & Farina P.C.
