A woman is suing over claims she was injured while exiting an elevator.
Shannon Clausen filed a lawsuit March 5 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Otis Elevator Co. and Sudler and Co.
The complaint states Clausen was at 1500 N. Lake Shore Drive in Chicago on Feb. 21, 2013, when she tripped while exiting the freight elevator because the elevator did not open in proper alignment with the floor.
She claims the defendants acted negligently by failing to provide a flat walking surface, failing to maintain the condition of the freight elevator and failing to warn.
Clausen is seeking damages in excess of the jurisdictional minimum and is being represented in the case by attorneys at Pfaff & Gill Ltd.
