A man is suing over claims that physicians' negligence caused complications after surgery.
Stewart Kasnick filed a lawsuit March 7 in the Cook County District Court against Dr. Thomas A. McNally, Suburban Orthopaedics Ltd., Alexian Broth ers Medical Center, Alexian Brothers Health System, Alexian Brothers Hospital Network, Alexian Brothers Health Providers Association Inc., Alexian Brothers Ambulatory Group, Alexian Brothers Corporate Health Services and Alexian Brothers Medical Group, citing professional malpractice.
The suit names Physician Anesthesia Associates S.C., Bonaventure Medical Foundation LLC, Alexian Brothers Medical Foundation, Global Health Holdings LLC, Drs. David J. Madden, Predrag Konstantinovic and Kristin Wyer as respondents in discovery to inform the courts of any other defendants that should be named in the suit.
According to the suit, Kasnick was a patient of McNally beginning May 24, 2010. He claims McNally failed to properly perform a lower back spinal fusion surgery on him, resulting in hip flexor weakness and the inability to lift his legs when sitting.
Kasnick alleges that during surgery, McNally failed to properly position him on the operating table and injured the femoral nerve located in the leg, which caused pain and suffering.
Kasnick is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 and court costs. He is being represented in the case by Chicago attorney Catherine M. Hoag of Hurley McKenna and Mertz P.C.
