River North restaurant-lounge named in dram shop suit

A man is suing a Chicago restaurant-lounge over claims a belligerent patron hit him in the head with a bottle.

Milan Stupar filed a lawsuit March 12 in the Cook County Circuit Court against 113 W. Hubbard LLC, doing business as Mercer One Thirteen, citing the IIllinois Dram Shop Act and negligence.

According to the complaint, Stupar was injured on Feb. 23, when he was struck in the head with a glass bottle by an intoxicated patron at the River North lounge. He claims the defendant served alcohol to the patron and failed to protect him and other patrons.

Stupar is seeking damages within the jurisdictional limit and is being represented by attorney George G. Argionis and Al Koritsaris of Argionis & Associates LLC.
