Apartment tenant sues over carbon monoxide poisoning

Scales

A Chicago resident is suing over claims of carbon monoxide poisoning.

Vanessa McDaniel filed a lawsuit March 10 in the Cook County Circuit Court against the Chicago Housing Authority, IDM Services Corp., Chicago Title and Trust Co., Community Investment Corp. and Broadmoor Realty Corp., citing negligence.

The complaint states McDaniel was a tenant on the defendants' premises at 7600 N. Bosworth Ave. in Chicago on March 10, 2013, when she suffered carbon monoxide poisoning.

She claims the defendants allowed the premises to remain in an unsafe condition and was  injured as a result.

McDaniel is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented in the case by attorneys at the Law Office of Andrew S. Kryder LLC.
