Rhatigan

A woman is suing the Chicago Housing Authority and others, claiming she was shot as a result of their negligence.

Denikos Hawkins filed a lawsuit March 14 in the Cook County Circuit Court against the Chicago Housing Authority, East Lake Management Group Inc., Millennium Security and Tyler Horton, citing negligence and battery.

Hawkins claims on March 15, 2012, she suffered injuries when she was shot by Horton, a resident of the other defendants' building at 9458 S. Harvard Ave. in Chicago.

She claims the building defendants were negligent in keeping Hawkins safe from Horton, resulting in her being shot and sustaining injuries.

Hawkins is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 from each defendant and is being represented in the case by Chicago attorneys Timothy P. Rhatigan and Daniel J. Biederman Jr. of Rhatigan Law Offices LLC.
