A woman is suing over claims she was injured at a Lansing grocery store.
Hayley Augustyniak filed a lawsuit March 17 in the Cook County Circuit Court against SVT LLC, doing business as Ultra Foods, citing negligence.
According to the complaint, Augustyniak was at the defendant's grocery store at 16831 Torrence Ave. in Lansing on Nov. 8, 2012, when a substance on the floor caused her to slip and fall.
She claims the defendant acted negligently by allowing a foreign substance to remain on the floor, failing to use ordinary care, failing to inspect, failing to stock its merchandise so as to avoid causing dangerous conditions to exist and for failing to warn.
Augustyniak is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented in the case by Mark L. Karno of Mark L. Karno & Associates in Chicago and Nicole Lawson of Lawson Law Group in South Holland.
