A woman is suing a Des Plaines casino, alleging that she was fired for seeking benefits under the state's Workers' Compensation Act.
Mary Kupris filed a lawsuit March 20 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Midwest Gaming & Entertainment LLC, also known as Rivers Casino, and its agents and employees.
According to the complaint, Kupris was an employee of at the casino and suffered accidental injuries in the course of her employment. She contends she was terminated on March 23, 2013 in retaliation for seeking works' comp benefits.
Kupris is seeking damages in excess of the jurisdictional minimum. She is being represented in the case by attorneys at Cuda Law Offices in Oak Park.
