Ryder Truck Rental sued after man injured

A man is suing a truck rental company, claiming he was injured by a malfunctioning truck.

John L. Richardson filed a lawsuit March 21 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Ryder Truck Rental Inc., citing product liability.

According to the complaint, Richardson was using a truck his employer, Aramark, rented from Ryder on April 12,when the rear lift gate he was standing on malfunctioned and dropped him to the ground.

Richardson is seeking damages in excess of the jurisdictional limits. He is being represented in the case by attorney David C. Wise of Burke Wise Morrissey & Kaveny.
