A woman is suing a Chicago funeral home, claiming it improperly stored her daughter's remains.

Debbie Watson filed a lawsuit March 24 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Seals Funeral Home 1 Incorporation, doing business as Seals Funeral Home.

According to the complaint, the funeral home failed to transport the remains of Watson's daughter to the crematorium on July 30, 2012 as planned. Watson claims that her daughter's body suffered deterioration because it was improperly stored for an unreasonable amount of time.

She accuses Seals Funeral Home of intentional and negligent infliction of emotional distress, breach of contract, common law fraud and statutory fraud.

Watson is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented in the case by attorneys Matthew P. D'Avanzo and Steven Levin of Levin & Perconti.
