A group of local medical care providers are being sued by a woman who claims they committed medical malpractice and failed to provide medical records.
Janet Wright filed a lawsuit March 14 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Loyola University Medical Center, Loyola University Physician Foundation, Loyola University Health System, Loyola Ambulatory Centers LLC, Loyola Ambulatory Center at Oakbrook Inc. and Dr. Michael Pinzur.
According to the complaint, Wright underwent surgery on her left foot on March 14, 2012 at Loyola. Wright claims the defendants committed numerous acts of negligence, including allowing physicians who lacked adequate training and experience to perform her surgery, improperly placing screws and cerclage wire and failing to use appropriate antibiotics.
In addition, the suit alleges that Wright's attorney properly requested complete medical records from the defendants on Feb. 7, 2013, and they have failed to provide them.
Wright is seeking damages in excess of the jurisdictional minimum and is being represented in the case by John J. Maclnerney of Hofeld and Schaffner.
