Vernon Hills apartment complex sued after man trips over rolled up carpet

A Cook County man is suing over claims he sustained injuries as a result of an unsafe hallway in his apartment complex.

Saul Helfgot filed a lawsuit on March 19 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Global Facility Solutions Inc. and Museum Gardens IL LLC, citing negligence.

According to the suit, Helfgot suffered injuries on Jan. 28, 2013, when he tripped on a rolled up carpet in the hall of his apartment building at 1125 Museum Blvd. in Vernon Hills.

Helfgot claims the cleaning lady left a rolled up carpet in front of the elevator door, which he tripped on.

He is seeking damages in excess of the minimum jurisdictional limit, as well as court costs, and is being represented in the case by attorneys at Rittenberg, Buffen, Gulbrandsen, Robinson & Saks Ltd. in Chicago.
