Parking lot injury lands Los Comales in court

Loscomales

A Melrose Park restaurant is facing a lawsuit after a man claims he was injured when he stepped on a crack walking in its Melrose Park parking lot.

Javier Jimenez filed suit in the Cook County Circuit Court on March 28 against Los Comales De Melrose Park Inc., citing negligence.

According to the suit, Jimenez sustained injuries on July 27, 2012, when he was walking through the restaurant's parking lot at 2110 W. Lake St. in Melrose Park and stepped on a crack in the pavement.

He claims Los Camales has a duty to maintain the parking lot in a safe condition, but allowed it to become covered with ruts, cracks and holes.

Jimenez is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented by Chicago attorney Peter A. Zneimer of Zneimer & Zneimer P.C.
