Rush Medical Center, doctor accused of failing to treat man's hemorrhage

Mcnabola

Rush University Medical Center and other health care providers are facing a wrongful death lawsuit over claims they inadequately treated a hemorrhage.

Maria Williams, as independent administrator for the Estate of Anthony Williams, filed a lawsuit March 28 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Rush University Medical Center, Affiliated Radiologists SC and Dr. Sharon Byrd.

The complaint states Anthony was admitted to Rush's medical center on March 31, 2012 with an intracerebral bleed diagnosis. While there, Williams claims Anthony's condition deteriorated and tests revealed he was suffering from a subarachnoid hemorrhage.

She alleges the defendants failed to treat the hemorrhage in a timely fashion, which resulted in the Anthony's Aug. 26, 2013 death.

The plaintiff is seeking more than $50,000 in damages. She is being represented in the case by Edward W. McNabola of McNabola Law Group P.C.
