An Evanston hospital is being accused of neglecting its parking lot area by a woman who alleges she sustained injuries after falling over a pothole.

Shirley Pugh filed a lawsuit April 4 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Presence Saint Francis Hospital, citing negligence.

The complaint states Pugh was exiting the hospital on April 9, 2012, when she fell over a pothole in the parking lot driveway. Pugh contends the defendant acted negligently by failing to maintain its driveway, failing to repair the pothole, failing to warn and for maintaining the area in a hazardous condition.

Pugh is seeking damages in excess of $100,000 and is being represented in the case by Kirsten A. Doyle of Briskman Briskman & Greenberg.
