A grocery store chain is being sued over claims its failure to keep the floor clean led two men to sustain injuries.

Alade Longe and Charles Kamson filed a lawsuit April 10 in the Cook County District Court against New Albertson's, doing business as Jewel Osco, Jewel Food Stores Inc., Supervalu Inc. and Prestige Maintenance Inc., citing negligence.

The plaintiffs claim they both suffered injuries when they slipped and fell in a Jewel Osco store at 7530 S. Stony Island Ave. in Chicago. According to the suit, they slipped on an oily substance that was on the ground between the entrance door and aisle one.

Longe and Kamson are seeking damages in excess of $50,000 and court costs. They are being represented in the case by Chicago attorney David J. Callagher of The Vrdolyak Law Group LLC.
