Alden Town Manor rehab center named in wrongful death suit

Kellerman

A local nursing home is facing a lawsuit after allegedly providing inadequate care, resulting in a resident developing ulcers.

Eric Selph, as independent administrator of the Estate of Evelyn Selph, filed a lawsuit March 31 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Alden Town Manor Rehabilitation and Health Care Center Inc., doing business as Alden Town Manor Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, citing the state's Nursing Home Care, the Survival and wrongful death acts.

According to the complaint, Evelyn was admitted to Alden Town Manor on March 28, 2012. Selph claims that while Evelyn was a resident at the defendant's facility, she developed pressure ulcers that resulted in injuries, deteriorating her condition and resulting in death.

The plaintiff is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented in the case by Jason Kellerman of Steven J. Malman & Associates.
