A suburban Cook County YMCA is being sued by a patron who claims she tripped and fell on a floor mat on her way out of the whirpool area.

Katherine Foster filed a lawsuit April 11 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Lattof YMCA, as well as YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago Foundation and YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago LLC, both individually and doing business as Lattof YMCA.

The complaint states Foster was at Lattof YMCA at 300 E. Northwest Highway in Des Plaines on March 31, 2013, when she tripped and fell on a mat while exiting the Jacuzzi area. The plaintiff contends the defendants acted negligently, which caused her injuries.

Foster is seeking more than $30,000 in damages, plus costs, and is being represented in the case by Terry Lachcik of Law Office of Daniel E. Goodman LLC.
