Dog attack on Huron Street results in lawsuit

Goodman

Two dog owners are being sued after their dog allegedly attacked a woman who was on a public sidewalk in the city's Austin neighborhood.

Alisha Maxwell filed a lawsuit April 11 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Addie Courts and Gregory Courts.

The complaint states Maxwell was attacked by the defendants' dog while on the public sidewalk adjacent to 5624 W. Huron St. in Chicago. Maxwell claims the defendants were negligent by failing to restrain and control their dog, and failing to secure and maintain the gate and fence.

Maxwell is seeking more than $30,000 in damages, plus costs, and is being represented in the case by Daniel E. Goodman of the Law Office of Daniel E. Goodman LLC.
