A Cicero nursing home is facing suit from a resident who claims she developed a wound on her left leg and a MRSA infection.
Roseanne Krajewski filed a lawsuit April 11 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Alden Town Manor Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center Inc. and The Alden Group Ltd., citing violations of the Illinois Nursing Home Care Act.
Krajewski claims she was a resident of the defendant's facility at 6120 W. Ogden Ave. in Cicero from 2006 through 2014. The suit states that beginning in 2010, Krajewski was at high risk for developing wounds and infections due to lower-extremity fluid retention.
She asserts that in February 2012, the defendant identified an open wound on her left leg, which progressively worsened to a MRSA infection.
Krajewski is seeking damages in excess of $50,000, attorney's fees and court costs. She is being represented in the case by Geneva attorney Thomas W. Dillon and Brian W. Irvin of Konicek and Dillon P.C.
