A condominium association and property manager are facing a wrongful death lawsuit from the father of a man who died after undergoing surgery to repair injuries sustained in a slip and fall.
Jagdish Darji, as father and special administrator of the Estate of Jatin Darji, filed a lawsuit April 11 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Wolcott Village of Ravenswood Condominium Association and Hallmark & Johnson Property Management Ltd., citing wrongful death.
The complaint states that Jatin was walking in the common area of the condominium complex at 4933 N. Wolcott Ave. in Chicago on Feb. 14, when he slipped and fell on ice.
As a result of the fall, Dariji claims Jatin fractured his ankle and underwent surgery to repair the injury. The surgery, according to the suit, resulted in complications, which caused Jatin to suffer a pulmonary embolism and die on March 17.
Darji is seeking damages in excess of the jurisdictional minimum and is being represented by George G. Argionis, Al A. Koritsaris and Peter Vlantis of Argionis & Associates LLC.
