A former pipe fitter is over claims he contracted mesothelioma after being exposed to asbestos-containing produced by dozens of companies.
Domenico Di Vito filed a lawsuit April 16 in the Cook County Circuit Court against A.W. Chesterton Co., Crane Co. and several others.
According to the complaint, Di Vito was exposed to asbestos through occupational activities as a pipe fitter and non-occupational projects in which he used products designed, manufactured, distributed, or sold by the defendants.
Di Vito, who asserts he was diagnosed with mesothelioma on Feb. 28, claims the defendants had knowledge of the dangers associated with asbestos exposure and failed to provide adequate warnings on their products.
He is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented in the case by attorney Lawrence R. Weisler of Cooney & Conway.
