A security guard is suing over claims she was injured on a dangerous stairwell.

Josie and Raymond Ward filed a lawsuit April 21 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Nancy and Raymond Sullivan, citing premises liability.

According to the complaint, Josie Ward was working as a security guard for Steiner Security Services on premises owned by the Sullivans on South Cicero Avenue in Crestwood on Feb. 3, when she fell on an icy stairwell with inadequate lighting and an insufficient handrail.

Josie Ward claims she sustained injuries as a result of the Sullivans' negligence and her husband is suing for loss of consortium.

The Wards are seeking damages in excess of the jurisdictional minimum and are being represented in the case by attorney Matthew J. Leonard of Leonard Law Group LLC.
