Nursing home sues couple accused of refusing to pay $188K for patient services

Brown

A South Holland nursing home is suing a couple, claiming it has refused to pay for services rendered to a patient.

Manor Care of South Holland IL LLC filed a lawsuit on April 15 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Chester and Kendra Cobb, citing breach of contract.

According to the complaint, the nursing home treated Chester on April 9, 2013 at its facility at 2145 E. 170th St. in South Holland. The nursing home claims that from the time Chester was admitted to March 4, 2014, he has incurred an outstanding balance of $188,177.77 that the couple has refused to pay.

The plaintiff is seeking the unpaid balance, plus any amounts that have been rejected by Cobb's insurance company and any other relief as the court deems just. The nursing home is represented by Sheri L. Brown with Meyers & Flowers LLC in St. Charles.
