A Citgo customer is suing over allegations he was attacked by a dog outside the store.

Adam Chrzanowski filed a lawsuit April 21 in the Cook County Circuit Court against United Partners II Inc. and Shirley Kelly, citing negligence and the Illinois Animal Control Act.

According to the complaint, Chrzanowski went to the defendant's Citgo store at 15857 S. Pulaski Ave. in Markham on May 3, 2012, when he was attacked by Kelly's dog. He claims Kelly had her dog tied up to a post outside the Citgo when he was attacked and bit, causing him severe injuries.

Chrzanowski is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 and court costs. He is being represented in the case by Chicago attorney Paul G. O'Toole of Salvato and O'Toole.
