A tenant of an apartment in Chicago suburbs is suing over claims a maintenance man made unwanted sexual contact toward her.

Stephanie Singh filed a lawsuit April 11 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Apartment Management Consultants LLC and Jackson Square Properties LLC, citing negligence.

According to the complaint, Singh was a tenant at the defendants' property at 314C Woodcreek Drive in Bolingbrook and the defendants employed a maintenance man who harassed her.

Singh claims she informed management of the incidents involving the maintenance man and was assured he would not be assigned to her unit, but arrived at her apartment for a repair on Dec. 17, when he inappropriately touched and engaged in unwanted sexual contact with her.

Singh is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented in the case by Jeffrey S. Deutschman and Bradley A. Skafish of Deutschman & Associates P.C.
