A Cook County woman is suing a dog owner after being attacked by the dog while in her front yard.

Danita Wilson filed a lawsuit April 29 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Lisa Mooney, citing negligence and the state's Animal Control Act.

Wilson claims she suffered injuries when the defendant's dog attacked her while she was in her front yard on Darrow Avenue in Chicago. According to the suit, Wilson didn't provoke the dog when it attacked her, which caused her severe injuries.

She is seeking damages in excess of $30,000 and court costs. She is being represented in the case by Terry M. Lachcik of the Law Office of Daniel E. Goodman LLC in Chicago.
