A Chicago nursing home is being sued over claims a resident sustained injuries while in its care that ultimately led to her death.
Barbara Lee, as special administrator of the Estate of Margaret Williams, filed a lawsuit April 3 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Renaissance at 87th Street Inc., citing the state's Nursing Home Care Act.
The complaint states Williams was admitted to Renaissance on May 4, 2012. While a resident there, Lee claims Williams fractured her hip and sustained other injuries that required hospitalization and led to her May 18, 2012 death.
Lee is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented in the case by Adam W. Czerwinski of Polansky & Cichon Chtd. in Chicago.
