A Cook County man is suing over claims he was injured during the construction of one of Streeterville's newest apartment buildings.

Michael R. Oswald filed a lawsuit April 29 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Optima Center Chicago LLC and Optima Inc., citing negligence.

According to the complaint, Oswald was working on the East Illinois Street building's parking garage as an employee of Concrete Structures on May 14, 2012, when he tripped over construction debris and sustained injuries.

He accuses the defendants of failing to properly supervise the site and allowing debris and scrap lumber to litter the area and create an unreasonably dangerous work area.

Oswald is seeking damages within the jurisdictional limits of the court and is being represented by Jennifer P. Irmen and Steven A. Berman of Anesi, Ozmon, Rodin, Novak & Kohen Ltd.
