Marks

A Cook County man is suing his former employer, claiming he was refused portions of his salary and bonuses.

Stephen D'Elia filed a lawsuit April 30 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Panthera Global Inc., Lawrence Carter and Laura Moyano, citing unpaid wages.

D'Elia claims he began working for the defendants in December 2007 and eventually became a vice president at the healthcare-focused investment and merchant banking firm. The suit alleges D'Elia's employment was terminated on March 17, but that the defendants refused to pay him a bonus of $25,000 he had earned and $16,666.66 in wages owed.

D'Elia is seeking damages, including the unpaid portions of his salary and bonus, interest, attorneys fees and court costs. He is being represented in the case by Chicago attorneys Howard Marks and Matthew Policastro of Berger Newmark & Fenchel P.C.
