A man is suing the city, its building commission and transit authorities, claiming he was injured after slipping on wet stairs in a Red Line station.

Patrick Redmon filed a lawsuit May 2 in the Cook County Circuit Court against the Chicago Transit Authority, Regional Transportation Authority, the City of Chicago and Public Building Commission of Chicago, citing premises liability.

According to the complaint, Redmon was descending the exit stairway at the Bryn Mawr Red Line station on May 5, 2013, when he slipped on water on the stairs and sustained injuries. He accuses the defendants of being negligent in the maintenance of the stairway.

Redmon is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented in the case by attorneys at Pope & Jaburek P.C. in Chicago.
