Manorcare Health Services and others are being sued over claims their negligence led a patient to fall and fracture his hip and toe.

Lena Joseph, with power of attorney for Robert Joseph, filed a lawsuit May 6 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Manor Care of Rolling Meadows IL LLC, doing business as Manorcare Health Services - Rolling Meadows, HCR Manorcare LLC, HCR Manorcare Inc., Heartland Employment Services LLC, Kathryn Berg and Lawrence Putz.

According to the suit, Robert was a resident of the defendant at 4225 Kirchoff Road in Rolling Meadows from Sept. 22, 2012 to Nov. 22, 2012, during which time he was being treated for pneumonia and required close monitoring as he was at risk of falling.

She alleges Robert fell Nov. 14, 2012, and suffered lacerations to his hand and knee and fractured his toe. He fell again Nov. 22, 2012, on the floor of his bathroom and fractured his right hip, requiring hospitalization, the suit states.

Joseph is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 and is being represented in the case by Chicago attorneys Susan L. Novosad and Eva C. Sosnowska of Levin & Perconti.
