Flat Top Grill patron claims bathroom door hit her in head

Flattop

A customer of an Oak Park restaurant is suing over allegations she became trapped in the bathroom and was then hit in the head when the door finally opened.

Latasha Denwood filed a lawsuit April 29 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Flat Top Grill Inc. and Flat Out Crazy LLC, citing negligence.

The complaint states Denwood was at Flat Top Grill at 726 Lake St. in Oak Park, where she got trapped in the restroom after the door would not open. Denwood claims as she was forcibly pulling on the doorknob, the door swung open and struck her in the head.

She contends she sustained injuries as a result of the defendants' negligence.

Denwood is seeking more than $50,000 in damages and is being represented in the case by Thomas G. DiCianni of Ancel, Glink, Diamond, Bush, DiCianni & Krafthefer PC.
