Woman lodges suit over alleged 2008 assault

A Cook County woman is suing a man she claims assaulted her in 2008 in her residence on Chicago's South Side.

Sandra Zuba filed a lawsuit May 5 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Michael Zuba, citing assault and battery.

Sandra claims she was attacked by Michael on July 4, 2008, when he visited her residence on West 54th Street. She alleges Michael attacked, punched and pushed her against the door before throwing her onto the porch, causing her severe injuries.

The suit does not identify how or if the two are related. It notes the counts alleged in the suit are re-filed causes of action and are being refiled within one year of a voluntary dismissal.

Sandra is suing for damages in excess of $50,000 and court costs. She is being represented in the case by Chicago attorney Stephen J. McMullen.
