A Cook County man is suing over claims another man assaulted him and kept from leaving the scene of an accident he witnessed.
Noe Perez filed a lawsuit May 9 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Mark La Civita, citing battery, false imprisonment and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
According to the suit, Perez witnessed a vehicle accident in the 3800 block of Cumberland Avenue in Chicago on May 10, 2012. He claims that when he helped the accident victim, La Civita began acting very upset and angry at him.
Perez alleges La Civita then punched, pinched, scratched and restrained him, causing injuries and emotional distress.
He is seeking damages in excess of $50,000, attorney fees, court costs and any other relief. He is being represented in the case by Chicago attorneys Edwin Belz and William Knox.
