A woman is suing Arlington Park Race Course, alleging she was injured in a stampede of patrons.
Theresa Diverde filed a lawsuit May 12 in the Cook County Circuit Court against Arlington Park Race Course LLC, Arlington International and Arlington Park Race Course Churchill Downs Inc., citing negligence.
Diverde claims she suffered injuries on May 13, 2012 while a patron at the defendant's horse racing facility at 2200 W. Euclid Ave. in Arlington Heights. According to the brief, the defendants failed to monitor the movement of crowds and maintain security pressure to prevent the stampede of patrons, causing Diverde to fall to the ground.
Diverde is seeking damages in excess of $30,000 and court costs. She is being represented in the case by Chicago attorney James M. Geraghty of Law Offices of James M. Geraghty.
